The Franciscans Project

During the month of November 2011 I shot portraits of 35 brothers and sisters from the Church of the Crucified One in Moretown, Vermont. This is a group of laymen and laywomen who have assembled together to take vows modeled after the Third Order of Franciscans.

The purpose of the project was to capture images of this diverse group of people and to give each one a chance to express something about themselves. These men and women have regular jobs and families, but seek to draw closer to the Lord by practicing their vows, living a contemplative life in spirit, serving their fellow man, and showing God's love.
