Cranberry Islands
This summer I made five trips to the Cranberry islands, two by kayak from Manset with my wife Janice, and three with my friends Howie and Brenda aboard their boat Mobius. I joined Howie to help with his latest photography project called Painting Islands. This new effort is even more ambitious than his previous project Painting Bridges and lucky for me, he asked if I would participate. Here are photos I took while we were doing reconnaissance to identify shooting locations. I took all but two of the photos below on Little Cranberry. The picture of the dinghy is in Seal Harbor, and the portrait of my nephew cider is on Great Cranberry Island with Mount Desert Island in the background. The wooden sailboat Dovekie was built by local legend Ralph Stanley.
