Products often look their very best when photographed using studio lighting and equipment. In this controlled environment, I can more easily isolate an item from distracting surroundings and make it pop right out of the photo. Reflective objects like metal and glass are the most challenging to photograph. For those I use a number of tricks and techniques that preserve the natural shininess of the piece while minimizing distracting glare.
